Medical Technologist ASCP – Blood Bank
Full Time • Evenings or Nights • Weekends Only
Location: Overland Park, Kansas
Evening Shift: 40 hours per week
Night Shift: Thursday through Sunday, 32 hours per week
Sign On Bonus: $20,000
Relocation Assistance: $5,000
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Medical Technologist ASCP with strong Blood Bank experience to join a hospital based laboratory team. This role performs moderate and high complexity testing in accordance with CLIA standards and plays a key role in ensuring accurate and timely diagnostic results.
The ideal candidate has recent acute care hospital Blood Bank experience and thrives in a fast paced lab environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform pre analytic, analytic, and post analytic laboratory testing
• Conduct waived, moderate, and high complexity testing on blood and body fluids
• Perform Blood Bank testing and ensure accurate compatibility results
• Investigate unexpected or abnormal test results
• Monitor and document quality control measures
• Maintain laboratory equipment and inventory of supplies and reagents
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives
• Assist with training and orientation of laboratory staff and students
• Correlate laboratory findings with clinical conditions
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related science required
• ASCP certification required or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year recent Blood Bank experience in an acute care hospital laboratory required
• Strong knowledge of CLIA regulations and quality control processes
Compensation
• $29.00 to $41.00 per hour based on experience
• Evening differential: $2.00 per hour
• Night differential: $3.00 per hour
• Weekend differential: $3.00 per hour
