Float Pool RN – Medical Surgical
Location: Gainesville, FL
Schedule: Full-Time | 3x12s | Days (7a–7p) or Nights (7p–7a), rotating weekends
Compensation: Flat rate of $43/hour (regardless of experience)
Incentives: $15,000 sign-on (Days) | $25,000 sign-on (Nights) | Relocation assistance (case by case)
Differentials: Nights +$4.25/hr | Weekends +$3.00/hr
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic Float Pool RN to join our Medical-Surgical team. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience across multiple units while working alongside a collaborative, supportive nursing team. The Float Pool RN provides high-quality, patient-centered care and serves as an advocate for patients and their families while maintaining flexibility across Med-Surg settings.
Key Responsibilities

Serve as a patient and family advocate, ensuring privacy, safety, and compassionate care

Perform nursing assessments, develop diagnoses, and provide evidence-based care plans

Float between various Med-Surg units as needed, adapting quickly to different patient populations and workflows

Support a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork
Qualifications

Experience: At least 1 year of recent (within the past year) Med-Surg acute care RN experience required

Must be comfortable floating between multiple Med-Surg units

Only Med-Surg experience is acceptable for this role

Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

Licensure: Active RN license (FL or Compact; compact RNs must apply for FL license)

Certifications:

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) – within 30 days of hire

Additional: AHCA Level 2 background screening and fingerprinting required

Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 7:1

Candidates must live within a commutable distance (60 minutes or less).
