Job Description
This is a Respiratory Therapist opportunity at a 523-bed acute care hospital in Gainesville, FL — a Joint Commission-accredited facility certified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, with an Accredited Chest Pain Center by the American College of Cardiology, and designated as a Blue Distinction Center for Spine Surgery and Bariatric Surgery.
The role. The Respiratory Therapist delivers, sets up, and maintains routine and non-routine therapies and equipment — including oxygen, aerosol therapy, and ventilators — in accordance with physician-prescribed care plans. The position requires the ability to perform and interpret Arterial Blood Gases, as well as a thorough working knowledge of patient responses, side effects, and proper dosages of medications used in respiratory care. The therapist is expected to assess and reassess patients, communicate effectively with physicians and clinical staff, and provide patient and staff instruction as needed.
What we're looking for.
- 1 yr min of RRT exp required (ICU, CVICU, NICU, PICU, Critical care unit) — will also consider those with home care and/or long term care experience, and will consider CRT experience
- FL State Respiratory License Required
- NBRC – RRT/CRT Required
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS)
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- NRP - Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- PALS - Pediatric Adv Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Schedule. Nights with rotating weekends.
Compensation. $29.56 - $40.65/hr plus SIGN ON: - Case by Case basis Relo: Case by case Shift Diffs: Nights - $4.25 Weekends - $3.00
