Position: Reimbursement Manager

Location: Hammond, IN

Shift Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM




Key Responsibilities:
  • Medicare/Medicaid Reporting: Diligently prepare, analyze, and review annual Medicare and Medicaid cost reports, ensuring pinpoint accuracy. Additionally, provide insightful recommendations to enhance reimbursement within the framework of Medicare/Medicaid regulations.
  • Third Party Reporting: Oversee the preparation and meticulous review of State Medicaid disproportionate shortfall filings, third-party cost reports, and reserves related to recovery audits.
  • Federal Register Compliance: Keep a vigilant eye on changes in DRG reimbursement, including rates, weightings, various indexes, cost outliers, and capital requirements. Continuously update DRG profiles to guarantee strict adherence to federal regulations.
  • Quarterly Social Accountability: Skillfully navigate quarterly social accountability calculations, furnish third-party analysis for auditors, and conduct monthly account analysis to maintain impeccable accuracy and appropriateness.
  • Cost Reports: Spearhead the development of comprehensive, system-wide cost reports that will be shared with executive leadership.
  • Forecasting: Lead the charge in conducting multi-year forecasts of government reimbursement programs and actively participate in both internal and external audit activities.
  • Medicare/Medicaid Reporting Coordination: Collaborate effectively with other functional teams to ensure seamless completion of Medicare/Medicaid cost reporting filings.
  • Analysis Support: Dedicate yourself to preparing and meticulously maintaining all schedules and analyses that underpin cost reporting processes.
  • Regulatory Monitoring: Stay at the forefront of regulatory changes and updates, with a keen eye on Medicare and Medicaid regulations that impact cost reporting activities and reimbursements. Continuously seek ways to optimize and streamline reimbursement processes and reporting, and be prepared to initiate and follow up on appeal opportunities as needed.
  • Cost Reporting Compliance: Ensure that all cost reports are meticulously prepared in strict accordance with federal and state regulations.
  • Project Management: Take charge of project monitoring to ensure timely completion and adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Performance Management: Oversee and actively manage the performance and activities of your team, facilitating ongoing coaching, feedback, and development to motivate, engage, and drive high performance.
  • Audit Process: Actively support internal and external audit processes to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • People Management Activities: Play a central role in making hiring decisions for your direct reports, and assume responsibility for key people management activities, including performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, staff planning, and interviews.
  • Budget and Policies: Be a driving force behind the development, implementation, and management of policies and budgets, with a focus on cost control and alignment with the budgetary framework.
  • Supervisory Role: Lead by example as you supervise your direct reports, actively engaging in people management activities and consistently driving individual and team performance through ongoing coaching, feedback, and development.




Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree (Required)
  • Master's Degree (Preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare reimbursement, Medicare, Medicaid, and cost reporting (Required)
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare accounting/finance (Required)
  • 3+ years of experience in a recent or current supervisory role (Required)
  • Proficient in Excel




Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in healthcare reimbursement consulting
  • Experience in healthcare reimbursement within a multi-hospital health system
  • CPA or MBA
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare accounting/finance
  • 5+ years of experience in actively working with Medicare/Medicaid reimbursements and related reporting
  • 3+ years of experience in a recent or current supervisory role
  • Proficiency in Excel




Additional Information:
  • This is an on-site position, not remote.
  • Salary Range: $80,433.60 - $110,593.60 - $140,753.60 USD Annually.
  • MUST have Medicare/Medicaid cost reporting experience.
