Job Description
This Registered Respiratory Therapist opportunity is based in Miami, FL at a 417-bed acute care facility in west Miami-Dade County. The hospital is a Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center — certified by both the Florida Department of Health and verified by the American College of Surgeons — as well as a Joint Commission–certified Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center and one of five American Burn Association–verified Burn Centers in Florida. The facility also supports six ACGME-accredited Graduate Medical Education programs and two full-service freestanding emergency departments.
The role. Respiratory Therapists at this hospital provide direct bedside care across a clinically complex patient population that includes trauma, burn, surgical, and pediatric cases. Day-to-day responsibilities center on conducting patient assessments — including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure — and performing diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for and response to respiratory interventions. You will administer oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy, as well as assist with artificial airway placement and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation. The role also involves transporting ventilator-dependent patients and responding to emergent situations, including ensuring airway integrity and supporting ventilation during resuscitation events.
What we're looking for.
- Associate Degree or Vocational School Graduate
- Active RRT / Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT / RCP) credential
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) — must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Schedule. Full-time position with a rotating schedule that includes weekend shifts.
Compensation. $30.34 - $41.50/hr plus SOB and Rel on a case by case basis
