Job Summary:

As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with respiratory disorders. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement effective treatment plans and provide ongoing respiratory care. Your expertise and attention to detail will be essential in delivering high-quality care to patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatric populations.




Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct thorough patient assessments, including reviewing medical histories, performing physical examinations, and evaluating respiratory function.
  2. Administer a variety of respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, bronchodilator therapy, and chest physiotherapy.
  3. Monitor and adjust mechanical ventilation settings for patients requiring respiratory support.
  4. Perform arterial blood gas analysis and interpret results to assess and manage oxygenation and acid-base balance.
  5. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients with respiratory disorders.
  6. Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions, treatment options, and self-management techniques.
  7. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  8. Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure the safety and well-being of patients at all times.
  9. Stay current with advancements in respiratory care by participating in continuing education and professional development activities.




Qualifications:
  1. Valid license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the state of practice.
  2. Associate degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
  3. Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
  4. BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
  5. Excellent knowledge of respiratory therapy principles, procedures, and equipment.
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  7. Ability to work independently and make critical decisions in emergency situations.
  8. Attention to detail and strong analytical skills to assess patient conditions accurately.
  9. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on the needs of the department.
