Job Description
A Registered Respiratory Therapist opportunity is available in Fort Pierce, FL at a 380-bed acute-care hospital that houses a heart institute offering open-heart surgery and interventional cardiac care, along with labor and delivery, pediatrics, oncology, orthopedics, nuclear medicine, and adult and pediatric emergency services.
The role. As a core member of the patient care team, the Respiratory Therapist delivers and documents comprehensive respiratory assessments — including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure — and conducts diagnostic procedures to evaluate patient need and treatment response. Day-to-day clinical work includes administering oxygen therapy, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy, as well as assisting with artificial airway placement and initiating, monitoring, and maintaining both invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation. The therapist tracks patient response to treatment, communicates with providers, and intervenes when an unintended response occurs. Additional responsibilities include transporting ventilator-dependent patients and responding to emergent situations to secure airway integrity and support adequate ventilation during resuscitation.
What we're looking for.
- Associate Degree
- Active state Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner license (RRT/RCP)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) — must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) — must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Schedule. Full-time, night shift with rotating weekends.
Compensation. $30.34 - $41.50/hr plus SOB and Rel on a case by case basis
