As a Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse, you will play a crucial role in the healthcare team, providing compassionate and high-quality patient care in a medical-surgical setting. Your responsibilities will include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients with diverse medical and surgical conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Patient Assessment and Monitoring:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical and psychological health.
  • Monitor and document vital signs, symptoms, and changes in patients' conditions.
  • Implement and adjust care plans based on ongoing assessments.
  1. Treatment Planning and Implementation:
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed.
  • Provide patient education on medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
  1. Patient Advocacy and Support:
  • Advocate for patients' rights and ensure their needs are met.
  • Offer emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  1. Collaboration and Teamwork:
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and case conferences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a positive and effective work environment.
  1. Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate and thorough patient records.
  • Document nursing interventions, patient responses, and progress notes.
  • Report and communicate effectively with other members of the healthcare team.
  1. Safety and Infection Control:
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Implement and enforce safety measures to prevent accidents or injuries.
  1. Professional Development:
  • Stay current with advancements in medical-surgical nursing through ongoing education and training.
  • Pursue opportunities for professional development and training.
