- Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care techniques.
- Respond effectively to medical emergencies, providing immediate and appropriate interventions while maintaining composure and following established protocols.
- Assist in patient procedures, surgeries, and other medical interventions, ensuring sterile techniques and patient comfort.
- Provide emotional support to patients and families, addressing their concerns and providing information to alleviate anxieties.
- Act as an advocate for patients' rights and preferences, ensuring their voices are heard in their care decisions.
- Maintain infection control practices, adhere to safety protocols, and contribute to a clean and organized patient care environment.
- Participate in ongoing professional development, staying current with medical advancements, evidence-based practices, and nursing trends.
- Serve as a mentor to junior nursing staff, providing guidance, training, and support to promote a collaborative and learning-focused environment.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, participate in healthcare committees, and engage in interprofessional collaboration to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Current, unencumbered RN license in the applicable state or region. Or compact.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Or an ADN.
- Proven clinical competence and experience in delivering patient-centered care across various healthcare settings.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in fast-paced and complex environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to handle stress, multitask, and prioritize responsibilities while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Proficiency in using EMR and other healthcare technology.
- Commitment to maintaining ethical standards, patient confidentiality, and professional integrity.
