Job Title: Nurse Manager - Med Surg - General Post Op

Shift: Days (Rotating Weekends)




Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Manager for our Med-Surg unit, with a focus on General Post-Operative care. The ideal candidate should possess at least 1 year of recent leadership experience in an acute care setting, preferably within the Med-Surg unit. We strongly prefer candidates with leadership experience in Post-Operative or Orthopedic care, but we are open to considering applicants with leadership backgrounds in Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Critical Care, or Rehabilitation. If you have experience managing Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN's) in your leadership role, it is a definite plus!




Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise the nursing staff within the Med-Surg unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to establish and maintain patient care standards and protocols.
  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the General Post-Operative unit, including staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor patient care to ensure it adheres to the hospital's policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in the recruitment, onboarding, and evaluation of nursing staff.
  • Foster a positive work environment, encouraging professional growth and development among the team.
  • Act as a resource for staff in terms of clinical expertise, problem-solving, and patient advocacy.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to staff.
  • Assist in developing and managing the departmental budget.




Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent leadership experience in an acute care setting, preferably within the Med-Surg unit.
  • Strong preference for candidates with leadership experience in Post-Operative or Orthopedic care. Consideration will be given to those with PCU, Critical Care, or Rehabilitation leadership experience.
  • Experience managing Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN's) is a plus.
  • Strong clinical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of current healthcare trends and regulatory standards.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and healthcare management software.
  • Basic life support (BLS) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certifications may be required.




Compensation:
  • Salary Range: Minimum $36.42 - Mid $45.52 - Maximum $54.63 (Pay is determined based on years of experience)
