RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
Job Description
A Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is needed at a 64-bed acute care hospital in Oviedo, FL, offering surgical inpatient, intensive care, emergency, cardiology, telemetry, labor and delivery, and cardiopulmonary services including cardiac catheterization.
The role. Reporting within the cardiopulmonary department, the RRT coordinates and delivers respiratory care as a core member of the patient care team. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing patient assessments — breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure — and conducting diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for and response to respiratory therapy. The therapist administers oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy, and initiates, monitors, and maintains both invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation, including assisting with placement of artificial airways and transport of ventilator-dependent patients. The role also requires responding to emergent situations, ensuring airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation, and monitoring patients for therapeutic response with appropriate provider notification and intervention when unintended responses occur.
What we're looking for.
- Associate Degree
- 1 year of RRT experience required; Labor & Delivery or critical care experience preferred — CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) does not qualify
- NBRC and State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required
- (RRT/RCP-State) Respiratory Therapist/Practitioner
- Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Advanced Cardiac Life Spt, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
- PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt, or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
- Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
Schedule. Nights with rotating weekends.
Compensation. $28.00 - $40.00/hr plus $15,000 sign-on bonus
