Job Description
A Registered Nurse opportunity in the Pediatric Emergency Department at a 198-bed, Level III trauma center serving the Four Corners region of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah — located in Farmington, NM.
The role. This RN position sits within a 48-bed Emergency Department (with flex space) that operates on a team nursing and pod system, with a dedicated social worker and a unit educator supporting the department. Patient ratios are 4:1 in the main ED and 6:1 in Fast Track. Nurses care for a complex patient population that includes presentations of ESRD, cirrhosis, COPD, and psychiatric conditions, with frequent encounters involving trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, moderate sedation, substance abuse disorders, psychological disorders, CHF, and abdominal and chest pain. The department uses Cerner as its electronic health record and is equipped with Zoll Defibrillators, Level One Blood Transfusers, QinFlow Blood Warmers, Hospira Plum360 infusion pumps, Freestyle and iStat point-of-care devices, and ultrasound-guided IV capability.
What we're looking for.
- RN — Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
- At least 2 years of acute care experience
- Skills and experience in trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and moderate sedation required; 2 years of Emergency Department experience preferred
- BLS required upon submission. All other required certifications can be obtained after hire; please refer to Life Support Certification document in attachments.
- Open to candidates who do not hold New Mexico or Compact licensure. Candidates must obtain prior to start.
Schedule. Day shift.
Compensation. $31.00 - $46.50/hr plus $2 sign-on bonus
