Job Description
This is a full-time Surgical Services Manager opportunity in Portsmouth, NH at a 240-bed acute care facility designated as an ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center and a Comprehensive Stroke Center, with a heart and vascular program serving communities across New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts.
The role. The Manager of Surgery oversees day-to-day operations across 11 operating rooms and leads a team of approximately 45 FTEs, including RNs, Certified Surgical Technologists, First Assistants, and OR Techs. This leader is responsible for surgical scheduling, patient rounding, and coordinating admissions and discharges alongside Clinical Coordinators. The role includes full people-management responsibilities — interviewing and hiring staff, conducting annual performance evaluations, implementing learning plans, and managing disciplinary processes through to termination when necessary. The Manager partners with the Surgical Services Director on unit budget oversight and ensures compliance with regulatory, national nursing, and specialty nursing standards, while continuously evaluating patient outcomes and supporting competency development with the department educator.
What we're looking for.
- 1–3 years RN Operating Room experience — Required
- New Hampshire RN License — Required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — Preferred
Schedule. Full-time, day shift with no weekend requirement.
Compensation. $47.30 - $65.20/hr
