RN Clinical Nurse Coordinator Ortho/Neuro Trauma (Charge)
Job Description
This Clinical Nurse Coordinator (Charge RN) position is located in Kansas City, MO at a 585-bed hospital designated as a Level I Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center, with specialty services including orthopedics, a Chest Pain Center, and a Breast Care Center.
The role. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator oversees nursing care coordination and unit operations across the designated shift on an Ortho/Neuro Trauma unit, working in collaboration with the broader management team. The CNC guides staff through admission and discharge workflows to support efficient patient throughput, and participates in ongoing quality assessment of unit-level care services. This role carries direct input into staff scheduling and labor management aligned with patient care needs and productivity expectations, as well as recommendations on hiring, development, conflict resolution, and performance evaluations. The CNC also leads bedside rounding initiatives and engages in service recovery efforts to support a consistent, patient-first care environment.
What we're looking for.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Current, active RN license in the state of practice or an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation
- Strong, recent acute care experience in a Med-Surg setting required; prior charge RN experience in Med-Surg strongly preferred, or a minimum of two years as a staff RN on a Med-Surg unit — experience must be current
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Schedule. Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, with rotating weekends.
Compensation. $35.65 - $47.64/hr plus $4 sign-on bonus
