Job Description
This Emergency Department RN position is located in Farmington, NM at a 198-bed Level III trauma center serving the Four Corners region of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah. The facility operates a broad range of services including a childbirth center, cancer center, nephrology unit, inpatient behavioral health unit, and day surgery center, with PCI, Mammography, and Laboratory accreditations. The ED itself runs 48 beds with flex space and uses Cerner as its EHR.
The role. The Emergency Department RN works a night shift in a 48-bed ED (with flex space) that manages a high-acuity, regionally diverse patient population including those presenting with ESRD, cirrhosis, COPD, psychiatric conditions, substance abuse disorders, chest pain, and abdominal pain. Nurses operate at a 6:1 ratio in both the main ED and Fast Track areas. Core clinical focus areas include trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and moderate sedation protocols. The position requires the ability to rapidly assess and intervene across a broad spectrum of emergencies consistent with a Level III trauma designation.
What we're looking for.
- ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing) required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience; 2 years of Emergency Department experience preferred
- Resume must document a Nurse Practicum and list all experience in MM/YYYY format
- Active RN licensure required prior to start date; open to candidates without current New Mexico or Compact licensure, provided licensure is obtained before start
- BLS required at time of submission
- All other required certifications may be obtained after hire
- Clinical competency in trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and moderate sedation
Schedule. This is a 13-week assignment with a projected start date of March 9, 2026, working night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM in the Emergency Department.
Compensation. $29.05 - $46.48/hr plus $2 sign-on bonus
