Job Description
A Medical Physicist opportunity is available in Richmond, VA at a 290-plus-bed acute care hospital serving the Greater Richmond and Tri-Cities area. The facility operates a Neuroscience and Gamma Knife Center — the first of its kind in Richmond — and is the first site in Central Virginia to offer Focused Ultrasound for essential tremors, alongside a dedicated cancer care program.
The role. The Medical Physicist will support clinical physics operations within the hospital's cancer care and advanced neuroscience service lines, including work tied to Gamma Knife and Focused Ultrasound technologies. Day-to-day responsibilities encompass treatment planning physics support, equipment quality assurance, radiation safety compliance, and collaboration with the clinical team to ensure accurate and safe delivery of therapy. The position offers meaningful involvement in a program recognized for introducing first-in-region technologies to Central Virginia.
What we're looking for.
- Master's degree in Medical Physics or a related field (required)
- 2 or more years of clinical or acute care physics experience; residency candidates will be considered
Schedule. Full-time, day shift with no weekend requirement.
Compensation. $150,340 - $224,125 per year
