Job Description
A Physical Therapist is sought for a new 90-bed acute care hospital opening Spring 2026 in Gainesville, FL, featuring comprehensive emergency services, advanced surgical care, and a dedicated 30-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit.
The role. Working closely with physicians and an interdisciplinary care team, the Physical Therapist evaluates patient abilities and develops individualized treatment plans built around meaningful functional goals. Day-to-day work centers on delivering evidence-based interventions to restore movement, reduce pain, and improve quality of life, while monitoring patient progress and refining plans as recovery evolves. The therapist maintains accurate and timely documentation of outcomes and educates patients and families on home exercise programs, adaptive techniques, and safe practices that support lasting independence. Collaboration across disciplines ensures cohesive, patient-centered care and smooth transitions throughout the recovery continuum, and the therapist may also mentor therapy assistants or students as part of a growing rehabilitation team.
What we're looking for.
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapist program required
- Active Florida Physical Therapist license required
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- 1+ years of physical therapy experience preferred; new graduates welcomed and encouraged to apply
Schedule. Days with rotating weekends, core hours 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, with staggered scheduling based on unit needs.
Compensation. $35.77 - $49.18/hr plus Sign On: $20k Relocation Assistance: Case by Case
