Job Description
This Physical Therapist (Acute Inpatient Rehab) role is based in Fort Pierce, FL at a 380-bed acute-care Level II Trauma Center with a CARF-accredited Physical Rehabilitation Center, a certified Primary Stroke Center designation, and the area's only Level III Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units. The hospital also houses a regional Heart Institute offering open-heart surgery and interventional cardiac care, alongside a broad range of services including orthopedics, oncology, pediatrics, and labor and delivery.
The role. The Physical Therapist works within the inpatient rehabilitation setting, managing a defined caseload in close coordination with physicians and the broader patient care team to develop and implement individualized, goal-oriented treatment plans. Day to day, you will conduct thorough evaluations of therapeutic, rehabilitative, and functional status; design and carry out skilled treatment interventions within the full scope of PT practice; and teach patients, families, and caregivers how to continue therapeutic exercises and correctly use assistive or prosthetic devices between sessions. You will also take an active hand in operational flow — prioritizing caseload, identifying daily staffing needs, and coordinating patient assignments and handoffs to keep the unit running smoothly.
What we're looking for.
- Licensed Physical Therapist (active state license required)
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Physical Therapy
- Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Schedule. Full-time, day shift with rotating weekends.
Compensation. $36.53 - $53.20/hr plus SOB on a case by case basis
