Perinatal Sonographer
Job Description
This permanent Perinatal Sonographer position is based in Reno, NV and is embedded within a women's health and perinatal imaging program that supports obstetrical and high-risk prenatal care.
The role. The Perinatal Sonographer works under the direct supervision of attending physicians and in close collaboration with the broader women's health team to perform and report diagnostic sonographic examinations. Day-to-day responsibilities center on acquiring and analyzing ultrasound data, generating preliminary reports in the PACS system, and providing summary findings to physicians to support patient diagnosis and management. The sonographer participates directly in obstetrical procedures requiring ultrasound guidance and serves as a communication liaison between the physician and the patient throughout the care process. Maintaining equipment performance, ensuring room readiness and sterilization, and responding appropriately to patient emergencies within the sonographic area are also core to the position.
What we're looking for.
- Current ARDMS certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology, required at time of hire
- Nasal Bone certification from an accredited source
- Nuchal Translucency certification from an accredited source
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum two years of OB ultrasound experience or experience in a Maternal Fetal Medicine clinic
- RVT registry — preferred
- Fetal Echocardiography (FE) certification — preferred
Schedule. Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM; Friday, 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM; no weekends or on-call, with occasional overtime on scheduled shifts.
Compensation. $122,000 - $150,000 per year plus Sign up bonus up to $30k! ($10k, paid out over 3 years). Relocation is not being offered.
