Location: Austin, TX
Schedule: Full-Time | Days | No Weekends
Sign-on bonus up to $15,000
Position Overview
The PACU Nurse Manager is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This working manager provides clinical and administrative oversight, ensuring safe patient care, efficient staffing, and smooth departmental operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily PACU operations, including staffing, workflow, and patient throughput
- Plan, direct, and manage staffing assignments to ensure appropriate coverage while meeting productivity goals
- Conduct and approve performance evaluations, including goal setting for staff
- Review, update, and maintain departmental policies, procedures, and protocols
- Monitor the condition of the department and address operational or safety concerns
- Participate in performance and process improvement initiatives
- Support organizational initiatives by acting as a change agent and role model
- Maintain professional growth through continuing education and independent study
- Assist with budget management and inventory control
- Promote staff development and ongoing education
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BSN required
- BLS and ACLS required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in PACU, OR, or day surgery
- Prior nursing leadership or management experience required
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary up to $130,000 annually
- Sign-on bonus up to $15,000
- Relocation assistance available
