Job Description: Manager of CVOR RN

Position Overview:

As the Manager of CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) RN (Registered Nurse), you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of the CVOR department within a healthcare facility. Your primary focus will be on providing leadership, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and fostering a positive work environment for the CVOR nursing team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Leadership and Team Management:
  • Provide effective leadership and guidance to the CVOR nursing staff, promoting a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate CVOR nursing personnel, ensuring a skilled and competent team.
  • Foster professional growth and development of the CVOR nursing team through coaching, mentoring, and continuing education opportunities.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and address any performance issues or concerns.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective interdisciplinary communication and teamwork.
  1. Operational Management:
  • Oversee the daily operations of the CVOR department, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow management.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations governing CVOR operations and patient care.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes, safety, and efficiency in the CVOR department.
  • Monitor and manage the utilization of equipment, supplies, and resources to maintain cost-effective operations.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure the availability of necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies for CVOR procedures.
  1. Patient Care and Safety:
  • Maintain a strong focus on delivering high-quality patient care in the CVOR department, adhering to evidence-based practices and standards.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety during CVOR procedures.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of patient care protocols and guidelines specific to CVOR procedures.
  • Monitor patient satisfaction and address any concerns or complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections and other hazards.
  1. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to CVOR department performance, including patient outcomes, surgical volumes, and resource utilization.
  • Generate reports and present findings to senior management, identifying areas for improvement and recommending appropriate interventions.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to CVOR procedures, patient care, and staff activities.

Qualifications:
  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher degree preferred.
  • Proven experience as a CVOR RN with a strong clinical background in cardiovascular surgery.
  • Previous leadership or management experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of CVOR procedures, techniques, and equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in using healthcare information systems and electronic medical records.
