Position Summary:

As a Med Surg RN, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to our adult patients recovering from surgical procedures and managing various medical conditions. Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' medical conditions and surgical recovery progress.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapy as prescribed, monitoring for any adverse reactions.
  • Continuously monitor patients' vital signs, symptoms, and overall health to promptly address changes in their condition.
  • Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
  • Provide wound care and post-surgical incision management.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including patient assessments, care plans, and progress notes.
  • Be prepared to respond to emergencies and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Follow infection control protocols to ensure patient safety.




Qualifications:
  • Current RN license in the state of Virginia.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification. ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification may be required.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and best practices.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety.
