Acute Care facility is a leading healthcare provider committed to delivering high-quality patient care. We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (Med Surg RN) to join our dynamic healthcare team.
Position Summary:
As a Med Surg RN, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to our adult patients recovering from surgical procedures and managing various medical conditions. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' medical conditions and surgical recovery progress.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapy as prescribed, monitoring for any adverse reactions.
- Continuously monitor patients' vital signs, symptoms, and overall health to promptly address changes in their condition.
- Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Provide wound care and post-surgical incision management.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including patient assessments, care plans, and progress notes.
- Be prepared to respond to emergencies and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
- Follow infection control protocols to ensure patient safety.
Qualifications:
- Current RN license in the state of Virginia.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification. ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification may be required.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.
- Knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and best practices.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety.
