Med-Surg RN

Kansas City, MO

Job ID: 3585668 Salary: $30.04 - $41.50/hr

Job Description

This Med-Surg RN opportunity is based in Kansas City, MO at a 585-bed regional medical center designated as a Level I Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, and Chest Pain Center, with additional specialty programs in cardiovascular rehabilitation, breast care, and women's services including obstetrics and fertility.

The role. Registered Nurses on the Medical-Surgical unit care for adult patients presenting with a broad mix of medical, surgical, cardiac, and neurologic conditions — including general, urology, and vascular post-surgical cases. Patients tend to be more acutely complex than a typical med-surg population, though they are hemodynamically stable with minimal drip management, and the unit serves as part of a Level I Trauma facility. RNs conduct comprehensive nursing assessments in accordance with established standards of care and disease-specific protocols, develop and evaluate individualized patient care plans to optimize outcomes, and provide direct care while supervising non-licensed nursing personnel within scope of practice. A meaningful part of the role involves integrating patient and family education and emotional support — tailored to age, culture, and clinical circumstance — throughout every aspect of care delivery. RNs also have the opportunity to develop monitoring skills, supporting continued professional growth within the specialty.

What we're looking for.
  • Minimum of 1 year of acute care RN experience required (does not need to be recent)
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an ADN or BSN degree
  • Current RN licensure in the state of practice, or an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation
  • BLS required upon hire

Schedule. Day and night shifts available with rotating weekends.

Compensation. $30.04 - $41.50/hr plus $4 sign-on bonus

Brent McKenzie
Franchise Partner (Southwest FL)

Brent McKenzie’s career in hospitality began at his family’s resort, where he learned the business from the ground up. From there, he moved into restaurants, starting as a dishwasher and working through every role a restaurant has to offer. Over 25 years, that hands-on experience grew into more than a decade of management, including opening several new businesses of varying sizes. He capped off his hospitality career running restaurant operations at a large luxury convention hotel. Along the way, he developed a sharp eye for talent: the ability to recognize who’s ready to perform on day one, and who has the potential to grow into something bigger.

When COVID reshaped the hospitality industry in 2020, Brent brought those same instincts into healthcare recruiting. Six years in, he’s built a reputation for taking the time to understand what each client actually needs, not just the job description, but the team dynamics, the culture, and the kind of person who’ll thrive there. For candidates, he’s the kind of recruiter who listens first. He wants to know where you’re trying to go in your career, what you’re looking for in your next role, and what would make a move worth making. That way, when he brings an opportunity to the table, it’s one worth considering.

Brent is dedicated to seeing every search through. His attention to detail, persistence, and genuine interest in the people on both sides of the hire are what his clients and candidates come back for.
