Job Description
A Manager of Labor and Delivery RN is needed in Corpus Christi, TX for a 630+ bed regional healthcare system serving the Coastal Bend community. The Women's Center campus includes a NICU and hosts a graduate medical education program, with surgical suites and a full range of acute care services across the broader system.
The role. Reporting to the Director, this manager leads a unit comprising 19 labor beds, 5 OB emergency (OBED) beds, and 3 surgical suites, with oversight of approximately 80 FTEs. The manager is responsible for the overall daily operations, staffing, and clinical oversight of the Labor and Delivery unit, ensuring nursing care is delivered in alignment with established policies and procedures. A key focus is monitoring and evaluating clinical outcomes, holding staff accountable to quality benchmarks in support of departmental and facility objectives. On a rotating basis — every third week for one week — this role extends on-call coverage responsibility for Postpartum, Antepartum, and Labor and Delivery, serving as the escalation point for phone calls and emergency notifications across those units.
What we're looking for.
- Minimum 1 year of recent leadership experience within Labor and Delivery, with experience occurring within the last year required
- Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
- Active RN licensure required
