RN Manager of Surgical Services - Various Cities:

Job Summary:
- Manage and supervise departmental staff/personnel through direction provided to the Clinical Coordinators.
- Assist Surgical Services staff in achieving their potential as members of an effective team through innovative management practices.
- Manage all direct and indirect nursing care provided to patients within the Surgical Services department, ensuring optimal patient care.
- Oversee the daily operations of assigned departments within Surgical Services, including departmental support services such as Operating Room scheduling and departmental charging.
- Communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with all members of the Healthcare Team, customers, and key stakeholders.
- Prepare, implement, and monitor operational and capital budgets to ensure sound fiscal management for the operating room, managing departmental products and equipment cost-effectively.
- Ensure appropriate documentation within the Surgical Services departments.
- Promote and monitor departmental safety, compiling statistical information as directed by the OR Committee or the Director.
- Serve as a professional role model for the Surgical Services Team.
- Pursue professional growth through continuing education, participation in professional organizations, and in-services.
- Actively participate in Hospital and Community activities to advance and market the role of the Peri-operative organization for staff recruitment and retention.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of current experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in an acute care setting.
- At least two years of current experience in peri-operative nursing, where leadership and management abilities have been demonstrated.
- Current management experience in Peri-operative Nursing Practice is required.
- BSN preferred.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification
