Position: Laboratory Supervisor
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Laboratory Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our laboratory. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of laboratory procedures, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in research and analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities within the laboratory, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to protocols and safety standards.
- Manage a team of laboratory technicians and support staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Oversee equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting, ensuring that all instruments are in optimal working condition.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline processes and maintain consistency in operations.
- Monitor inventory levels of supplies and reagents, and coordinate with procurement to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained.
- Collaborate with researchers, scientists, and other departments to support ongoing projects and facilitate laboratory needs.
- Maintain records, documentation, and reports in compliance with regulatory guidelines and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce safety protocols to create a secure working environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry) or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience (X years) working in a laboratory setting, with at least X years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- In-depth knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques, and instrumentation.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to effectively manage a diverse team.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Proficiency in following and enforcing safety protocols and regulatory compliance (e.g., OSHA, FDA, ISO standards).
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
