ICU Stepdown RN
Job Description
A regional medical center in Sanford, FL is seeking an ICU Stepdown RN to provide close monitoring and skilled clinical care for medically complex patients requiring frequent assessment and intervention.
The role. In this position, you will collect comprehensive patient data and apply clinical judgment to manage the delivery of care safely and effectively, including monitoring critical vital signs to identify and intervene in life-threatening situations. You will serve as a patient advocate within an interdisciplinary team, contributing to collaborative care planning and decision-making. A meaningful part of the role involves educating patients and their families about medications, procedures, and treatments, providing consistent support throughout their stay.
What we're looking for.
- 1 year of recent Acute Care ICU Stepdown RN experience; candidates with 3 years of Cardiac PCU or Multisystem PCU experience will also be considered
- Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required; compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation
- Registered Nurse Diploma or Associate Degree required; BSN preferred
- NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start
- Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of start
- American Heart Association ACLS Provider issued card required within 6 months of employment start date
Schedule. Nights with rotating weekends.
Compensation. $31.86 - $46.28/hr plus Sign-on bonus available
