Job Description
A hospital in Gainesville, FL is hiring a Float Pool RN – Medical Surgical to join a collaborative nursing team. This role offers a unique opportunity to practice across multiple units within the acute care setting, broadening clinical exposure while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
The role. Reporting within the nursing department, the Float Pool RN rotates across multiple units as needed, bringing adaptability and clinical consistency throughout the hospital. The nurse serves as a patient and family advocate, protecting privacy and confidentiality at every point of care. Clinical responsibilities include performing nursing assessments and diagnoses to facilitate comprehensive patient care, as well as developing and executing plan-based care with a commitment to continuous quality improvement.
What we're looking for.
- 1 year of current acute care Med-Surg RN experience required; candidates must be currently working in Med-Surg (only Med-Surg experience is acceptable)
- Must be flexible to float to multiple units
- Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation.
- Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing
- Nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- AHCA Level 2 background screen and fingerprinting required
Schedule. Three 12-hour shifts per week; day shifts run 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and night shifts run 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m., with rotating weekend coverage (every other weekend).
Compensation. $43.00 - $43.00/hr plus Sign-on bonus available
