Job Description
A 238-bed acute care hospital in Panama City, FL is hiring an Emergency Room RN to join a 44-bed emergency department that includes 25 acute beds, 18 care path spaces, and 4 low-acuity triage spaces. The hospital holds certifications in Advanced Primary Stroke Care, Comprehensive Breast Care, and is the area's only Accredited Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI and Resuscitation, as well as home to the only Pediatric ER, Level III NICU, and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit in the region.
The role. As an ER RN, you will triage, assess, and treat patients of all ages — from minor injuries to acutely or critically ill presentations — while managing multiple cases simultaneously and continuously reprioritizing patient needs. You will develop individualized care plans with targeted strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes, then provide follow-up care instructions and make necessary referrals at discharge. Coordination with physicians and ancillary departments is a core part of the role, always with a patient-focused and safety-aware approach. The team currently includes 6 FTEs and is part of a collaborative emergency nursing staff supported by unit leadership.
What we're looking for.
- 1+ years Recent ER Acute Care (within the last year) RN experience — strong ICU or PCU background may also be considered
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida, multistate or able to obtain licensure prior to start is required
- Associate Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma
- BLS must be obtained prior to employment start date
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- Advanced Cardiac Life Spt, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt, or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
Schedule. Nights with rotating weekends.
Compensation. $29.92 - $44.88/hr plus $10,000 sign-on bonus
