Job Description
Director of NICU - Auston, TX
The Director ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall function and staffing of the unit(s)/department(s) in addition to forecasting, planning, and budget monitoring. The Director fosters a culture of accountability and collaboration and supports the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and procedures in support of facility objectives.
- The Director is responsible for the overall nursing and administrative leadership of the Hospital’s 99-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
- The Director is directly responsible for the day-to-day clinical and continuum of care, quality and operations for the NICU.
- The Director will play an integral role in strategic planning and business development for the organization regarding market, capital, and operational activities to ensure quality results and market share goals.
- Recommends and implements an integrated performance and quality improvement process that will improve effectiveness, enhance efficiency, increase cost effectiveness, and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- The Director is responsible for holding the neonatal service line accountable for standards of patient care and performance and implementation of the hospital's neonatal measures.
- The manager of the NICU, NICU charge nurses and the Clinical Practice Coordinator for the NICU will report to the Director.
- The Director will work in close partnership with the Director of Labor and Delivery, the Director of the Maternal Infant Unit, the Director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and the Medical Director of the NICU.
- Specialized care areas focus on advancing the science of medicine while providing high quality, life-saving technology and patient-focused care.
Qualifications:
