Job Description

Licensed for 157 beds, the hospital is a 10-minute drive from downtown Denver. 


Position Summary:

The Director of Med/Surg provides leadership through planning, organizing, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating the care provided for patients. Responsibilities include management of growth, finance, quality, and human resource, ethical and operational functions of the unit. Maintains 24 hour accountability for all operational aspects of the unit.



Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multi-state Registered Nurse license. Current AHA or ARC BCLS certification.


Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Bachelors Degree in health related field. Masters in Nursing or related field preferred.


Minimum of 5 years relevant clinical experience required.

Previous management experience preferred.



Comprehensive knowledge of the practice and scope of nursing with the ability to plan and provide for delivery of nursing services. Ability to build a high performance culture by coaching and developing others. Ability to engage employees through communication skills and leadership. Ability to drive efficiencies within the unit through effective operational decision making. Ability to allocate resources to support strategies through empowerment, delegation and driving for results. Ability to drive profitability through financial acumen.


Salary Estimate:

$100,422 - $156,665 (Incentive Bonus of Up To 15%)
