Job Description
The Director of Surgical Services role is based in Fredericksburg, TX at an 84-bed community hospital offering cardiology, surgery, orthopedics, obstetrics, wound and infusion services, and more.
The role. Reporting directly to the COO, the Director oversees surgical services operations across 5 operating rooms with a team of 50–60 FTEs and approximately 4,000 cases annually spanning general surgery, orthopedics, urology, ENT, GYN, ophthalmology, breast, and robotics. The Director is responsible for identifying and implementing evidence-based clinical practices, managing variation in surgical workflows to improve efficiency and reduce cost, and developing care coordination policies that ensure safe, high-quality patient throughput. This leader monitors internal and external benchmarks, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements to maintain compliance across the department. In collaboration with the administrative team and physicians, the Director also evaluates opportunities to enhance existing service lines and develop new surgical capabilities.
What we're looking for.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
- Master's Degree preferred
- 3+ years of applicable experience required
- Some leadership experience required; candidates with recent Surgical Services Manager experience will be considered
- Candidates with Ambulatory Surgery Center experience will be considered
Schedule. Full-time, day shift, no weekends.
Compensation. $97,052 - $145,000 per year plus $18 sign-on bonus
