Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Education to lead our educational initiatives within the healthcare sector. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in supervising educational programs, particularly in hospice care, home health, and assisted living environments. This role requires exceptional leadership skills and the ability to manage various educational activities while ensuring compliance with medical terminology and documentation standards.
Duties
- Develop, implement, and oversee educational programs for staff in hospice care, home health, and assisted living settings.
- Supervise and mentor educational staff to ensure effective delivery of training and support.
- Conduct regular reviews of documentation, including MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments, to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Manage shift schedules for educational programs to align with operational needs.
- Collaborate with leadership teams to identify training needs and develop strategies for continuous improvement in staff education.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs through assessments and feedback mechanisms.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in healthcare education to enhance program offerings.
Requirements
- Hold at least a master's degree in nursing with documentation of preparation and experience in curriculum and teaching in an academic nursing program. In addition, for baccalaureate degree nursing programs, the Nurse Administrator must hold an earned doctorate degree; and,
- Have the equivalent of a minimum of five years of full-time nursing experience to include:
- (i) A minimum of two years must be in patient care at the registered nurse level; and,
- (ii) A minimum of three of these years must be in a Nurse Educator or administrative position in an academic nursing education program.
- Must hold a current, unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Oregon, maintain current knowledge of nursing practice for the RN and the LPN, and be academically and experientially qualified for the level of appointment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $130,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
