We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Emergency Department (ED) to oversee the efficient and effective operation of our ED. The Director of ED will be responsible for managing all aspects of the department, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care, and promoting a culture of safety and excellence. This leadership role requires a strong background in emergency medicine and a minimum of three years of experience as a Manager of ED.
- Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to the Emergency Department staff, promoting a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the daily operations of the ED, ensuring efficient patient flow, timely triage, and appropriate allocation of resources to meet patient needs.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols that align with best practices, regulatory requirements, and organizational goals.
- Recruit, hire, train, and mentor ED staff members, promoting professional development and fostering a positive work environment.
- Foster effective interdisciplinary collaboration among ED staff, physicians, and other departments to ensure seamless patient care delivery.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the ED team, providing regular feedback and implementing performance improvement initiatives as needed.
- Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to ensure adherence to evidence-based practices, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer and other healthcare leaders to develop and implement strategies for improving patient outcomes and enhancing the patient experience.
- Manage the department budget, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources while maintaining high-quality patient care standards.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements, trends, and best practices in emergency medicine, actively participating in professional development activities and encouraging staff growth.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (Master's degree preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current, unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Florida.
- Minimum of three years of progressive leadership experience in Emergency Department management, with a proven track record of success.
- Strong clinical background in emergency medicine, including a comprehensive understanding of triage, emergency procedures, and emergency department operations.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing emergency medicine and patient care.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of healthcare professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to manage resources effectively, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven experience in quality improvement initiatives and implementing evidence-based practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
