A 326-bed acute care hospital in El Paso, TX — home to the region's only kidney transplant center and a Level III trauma center — is seeking a Director of Emergency Services. The emergency department operates 32 beds and serves a high-volume, diverse patient population including transfers from secondary and tertiary markets in southern Mexico.

The role. Reporting through hospital leadership, the Director oversees all nursing practice and daily operations of the main emergency department, leading a team of approximately 80 FTEs and four CNCs. The Director drives quality outcomes by implementing evidence-based practices, managing clinical variation, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards. A key focus is optimizing patient throughput through volume forecasting, patient flow coordination, and admission/discharge planning, while fostering interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure staff are matched to patient care needs. The Director also partners with administrative leaders and physicians to evaluate existing services and identify opportunities for new service development and growth.

What we're looking for.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required
  • Master's degree preferred
  • 3+ years applicable experience required
  • 5+ years applicable experience preferred
  • Must have ED manager or director experience in an acute care facility

Schedule. Full-time, days, no weekends.

Compensation. $109,158 - $109,158 per year plus Sign-on bonus available
