Job Title: Core Laboratory Supervisor/Manager




Location: Atlanta, GA




Schedule: Night Shift - 5/8s or 4/10s overnight




Up to $7,500 Sign on Bonus




Salary Starting at $70,000




The Lab Supervisor is responsible for providing direct supervision of the daily operations within the laboratory section and/or area. The incumbent will oversee and efficiently execute procedures and tests as ordered for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. In addition, the Lab Supervisor will ensure the maintenance of analyzers, uphold quality control standards, manage specimen collection, and maintain supplies in accordance with established policies and procedures. The Supervisor will play a key role in recommending and implementing action plans to enhance system processes within their designated section and/or area.




Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university in Medical Technology or a closely related field.
  • Three (3) years of clinical experience, preferably in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Certification in medical technology; certification as a medical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists), or AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts) is required.
  • AAB provisional certification is not accepted.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.

  • Provide direct supervision of daily laboratory operations within the assigned section and/or area.
  • Efficiently perform procedures and tests as ordered for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
  • Oversee maintenance of analyzers, uphold quality control standards, and manage specimen collection.
  • Maintain supplies in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Provide recommendations and action plans for the improvement of system processes within the designated section and/or area.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive working environment within the laboratory team.
  • Keep abreast of industry developments and incorporate best practices into laboratory operations.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advancements in medical technology.
