Job Description
This Cardiac Telemetry Services RN opportunity is based in Independence, MO at a 285+ bed Level II Trauma Center that also holds designation as an accredited Chest Pain Center, a Stroke Center, and a Level III NICU, with an accredited Cancer Program and Breast Center on campus.
The role. The RN works on a 36-bed cardiac specialty unit, caring for a wide variety of monitored patients including chest pain, stroke, COPD, post-operative, GI, accelerated heart rhythm, and drip patients who have stepped down from the PCU and trauma service. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 4–5:1 on days and 5–6:1 on nights, with one tech per hall. The RN assesses acute cardiac changes, continuously monitors and interprets heart rhythms and ECGs, identifies arrhythmias, and intervenes decisively in emergency situations. Beyond direct care, nurses on this unit develop advanced knowledge in the psychosocial, pathophysiological, and therapeutic aspects of step-down and cardiac monitoring patients across a wide age range — from young adults through geriatric populations. The unit operates as a collaborative team with strong leadership focused on career development and pathways into more critical care settings.
What we're looking for.
- Graduation from a school of nursing with a Diploma, ADN, or BSN
- Minimum 1 year of acute care RN experience
- Current RN license from the Missouri State Board of Nursing, or a multistate RN license from a participating compact state
- BLS certification required upon hire
- ACLS certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire date
Schedule. Days and nights with rotating weekends.
Compensation. $32.00 - $43.00/hr
