CVOR Tech 3 (Tier 3)
Job Description
This opening is for a senior-level CVOR Surgical Technologist (Tech 3) at a 585-bed hospital in Kansas City, MO — a Level I Trauma Center with a Chest Pain Center, Primary Stroke Center, and Breast Care Center. The facility operates a full cardiovascular and hybrid/endovascular OR program and serves a broad adult and geriatric surgical population.
The role. As a Tier 3 CVOR Tech, you function as a senior expert and go-to resource for the OR team, taking primary responsibility for the most complex and high-acuity cardiovascular cases. In the first scrub role, you manage all instruments, supplies, and equipment throughout the procedure, maintaining the sterile field and anticipating surgeon needs at every step. In the second scrub role, you actively support the surgeon and surgical assistant through sponging, suctioning, suture cutting, retractor holding, and endoscopic camera manipulation. You are expected to lead independently across multiple specialty service lines — including robotic, vascular, and hybrid/endovascular procedures — and serve as a mentor to less experienced OR technologists on the team.
What we're looking for.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Certified Operating Room Technicians (CORT)
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), or Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), required
- 7 years of CVOR and endovascular/hybrid operating room tech experience required
- 2 years of prior experience in a similarly sized facility with comparable services
- Demonstrated competency to perform as lead tech in all of the following specialty areas: Robotic, Total Joints, Neuro/Spine, Burn, and Vascular Surgery
- Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Schedule. Day shift with rotating weekends, 40 hours per week; on-call obligations are part of the role.
Compensation. $27.00 - $45.00/hr

Brent McKenzie
Franchise Partner (Southwest FL)
Brent McKenzie’s career in hospitality began at his family’s resort, where he learned the business from the ground up. From there, he moved into restaurants, starting as a dishwasher and working through every role a restaurant has to offer. Over 25 years, that hands-on experience grew into more than a decade of management, including opening several new businesses of varying sizes. He capped off his hospitality career running restaurant operations at a large luxury convention hotel. Along the way, he developed a sharp eye for talent: the ability to recognize who’s ready to perform on day one, and who has the potential to grow into something bigger.
When COVID reshaped the hospitality industry in 2020, Brent brought those same instincts into healthcare recruiting. Six years in, he’s built a reputation for taking the time to understand what each client actually needs, not just the job description, but the team dynamics, the culture, and the kind of person who’ll thrive there. For candidates, he’s the kind of recruiter who listens first. He wants to know where you’re trying to go in your career, what you’re looking for in your next role, and what would make a move worth making. That way, when he brings an opportunity to the table, it’s one worth considering.
Brent is dedicated to seeing every search through. His attention to detail, persistence, and genuine interest in the people on both sides of the hire are what his clients and candidates come back for.
