Job Description
A CVOR Registered Nurse opportunity is available in Webster, TX at a 530+ bed hospital serving the Houston Bay Area. The facility is a Level II Trauma Center and operates an accredited cardiovascular center providing nationally recognized care in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery of cardiovascular diseases.
The role. The CVOR RN is responsible for applying aseptic technique to maintain a sterile field and assist with cardiovascular surgical procedures, including knowledge of the appropriate prep areas for each procedure type. Prior to surgery, this nurse conducts patient assessments to confirm patient understanding of the planned procedure and leads the perioperative team through a pre-procedure timeout. The role requires strong teamwork and adaptability, with the expectation of serving as a clinical resource to the broader Surgical Services team. Throughout all of these responsibilities, the CVOR RN maintains accountability for delivering quality nursing care and upholding a positive image of the profession.
What we're looking for.
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing is required; BSN is preferred
- Associate Degree of Nursing required
- Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
- Current BLS and ACLS Certification are required
- CNOR is preferred
- 1 year of clinical CVOR experience as a licensed RN in an acute care setting required — Operating Room, OR, Surgery, Surgical Services, or Cardiovascular
- Will consider a seasoned OR Nurse (3+ years of experience) and will cross train them to CVOR
Schedule. Full-time days, four 10-hour shifts or three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 AM–5:00 PM), no weekends except for an on-call requirement of one weekend per month and three to four weekdays per month.
Compensation. $38.03 - $57.05/hr plus $5 sign-on bonus
