Job Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated CT Technologist to join our healthcare team. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for operating computed tomography (CT) equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images of patients' internal structures. Your expertise will contribute to accurate and timely diagnoses, aiding in the overall patient care process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform CT scans on patients as directed by physicians, ensuring proper positioning and optimal image quality.
- Operate CT equipment and associated machinery in accordance with established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Monitor patients' vital signs during procedures and address any adverse reactions promptly.
- Administer contrast agents as necessary for specific scans, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate scan interpretations.
- Maintain patient records and documentation of procedures, including patient information, images, and examination details.
- Evaluate scan images for quality and completeness, ensuring that the necessary anatomical and pathological information is captured.
- Ensure patient safety by adhering to radiation protection and infection control protocols.
- Calibrate and maintain CT equipment to ensure consistent image quality and equipment functionality.
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating patient appointments and maintaining a smooth workflow in the imaging department.
- Provide clear instructions to patients and their families regarding the imaging procedure and address any questions or concerns.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in CT technology, imaging techniques, and safety procedures through continuous education and training.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification in Radiologic Technology from an accredited institution.
- Additional certification in Computed Tomography (CT) from an accredited program is required.
- Current state licensure (if applicable) as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Strong knowledge of CT imaging principles, techniques, and equipment operation.
- Proficient in patient positioning techniques to obtain optimal images.
- Familiarity with contrast administration and related safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, and healthcare professionals.
- Attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate image quality and recognize potential issues.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
- Commitment to patient care, safety, and confidentiality.
- Willingness to participate in continuing education and professional development.
Work Environment:
The CT Technologist will primarily work in a hospital or medical imaging center setting. This role may involve standing for extended periods, lifting patients, and operating CT equipment. Adherence to safety protocols and radiation protection measures is essential. The technologist will interact with patients of varying ages and medical conditions, requiring empathy, patience, and clear communication.
